to a Tuft’s University health magazine article, extensive and well-supported research on the use of salt has revealed
that Americans consume 10 grams (not milligrams!) of salt daily, fifty per cent more than considered healthy by the World
Health Organization. The majority of that 10 grams of sodium chloride is not the fine granules we shake
out on our popcorn, eggs and tomatoes, but is already mixed in the many prepared and packaged foods we consume daily –
like the potato chips that accompany our barbecue from Sheila’s Shredded Shank or the Mean Cuisine that has a shelf
life longer than our own. For the average citizen and for the genetically predisposed, cardiovascular disease
or even the threat of stroke are only a matter of time at the table. .Those are your Wednesday Lizlines - finer than a grain of salt.

Lizlines, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 . I have more than enough on my plate right now. Trouble is, just about the time I begin to feel
sorry for myself, I get smacked right in the face with someone else’s troubles that are far greater than mine.
It’s a good reminder: There are plenty of Trouble Right Here In River City clubs, and no one
gets to be President. Look your overweight body right in the face, and do something about your simple problem
without complaining or trying to run for Pres. Do it today! . Those are your Tuesday Lizlines…solving present problems, preventing lifetime trouble.

Lizlines, Monday, March 8, 2010 . Nothing and no one can match children for inspiring physical activity. When your
kids are at basketball practice or going through their paces on the soccer field, that’s the time to hit the trails
and walk with other parents. If your son or daughter asks for a tree house with a rock wall, build it with
them and try it out yourself. And if you’re too weak or too heavy to slide down a cable with your
grandkids, it’s time to drop some weight before you do. . Those are your Monday Lizlines – almost as inspiring as children. Liz
